In reply to CDB53's post on March 30, You have also checked your network settings to verify IPv6 is enabled there? I'm pretty sure this is part of Windows.
Have you tried downloading and installing the Ethernet driver and any other newer drivers from the mfg of your motherboard or machine with laptop driver download page? I believe this would be your motherboards Ethernet controller mfg, not Microsoft.
In reply to BossDweeb's post on March 30, I did what you said, I downloaded the most relevant Ethernet Drivers and double-checked to make sure IPv6 was enabled, still no luck. Do you have any more ideas? In reply to CDB53's post on March 31, Well maybe it does have something to do with using Pro vs Home? Whichever, you may need to enquire at the dedicated XBOX forums. I just stumbled on what may be the article you got your information from. I suppose my 'Pseudo Interface' may have replaced the 'legacy' version you have been looking for, but don't know how you would go about installing either.
Looking into it further I see that it may be a legacy feature which may not be required by Win10 as they seem to have come up with a better way to interface IPv4 with IPv6 internet addresses. While some applications set these registry values to disable Teredo when the application is installed, others set them every time the application starts.
If your PC has one of these applications installed, make sure you have the most up-to-date version, or see their support documentation to learn how to enable Teredo tunneling with their software.
As a workaround, you can also disable the service and re-enable Teredo with the following steps:. Solution 4: Check to see if the IP Helper service is running 5. For Teredo to function normally, the IP Helper service needs to be set to start automatically and running. To check:. Select Services. If the service has been altered from its default startup type, you can revert it back to the default value:. In the Services application, double-click IP Helper. In the Properties window, select Automatic from the Startup type drop-down list.
Click on OK to save the changes. Some applications reconfigure PC settings to try to optimize performance and will disable Windows services in the process, sometimes affecting the IP Helper service. If you use one of these PC optimization applications, make note of any service configuration changes it makes, as you may need to revert those settings to use Xbox Live party chat and multiplayer. Solution 5: Check to see if the Teredo server name is set to an invalid value or blocked by a hosts file entry 7.
For Teredo to function normally, it needs to use a valid Teredo server name. If the following text is displayed, you may have an invalid Teredo server name configured or a hosts file entry configured to block Teredo:. First, try reverting the Teredo server name to the default value by running the following command in the Admin command prompt:.
To check your hosts file entries:. Please enter your email address, and we will email you the download link and release notes for this driver. Check SPAM folder if you do not receive an email.
